SISTERS OF CASTLE LEOD: A NOVEL is scheduled for release on January 19, 2023 (available for pre-order now). Here’s the scoop on the book’s gorgeous cover.
The image is titled “Woman on a Cliff,” and it is an oil-on-glass painting by the talented New Zealand artist Alison Hale. When I discovered this painting, completely by accident, I was immediately drawn into its moody, mysterious atmosphere and intrigued by the slender figure in black poised at the cliff’s edge. It was easy to imagine this scene as somewhere in the Scottish Highlands and the solitary woman, perhaps wearing a gown of mourning, as my novel’s heroine, Sibell Mackenzie, 3rd Countess of Cromartie.
